It is opening day of Arizona Strip 13 a rifle hunt and we’ve been posted up on this hill right here, glass and since the Sun come up. We’ve been up here about two hours now: seven doze is all we’ve seen so far. I’ve got my client Joe he’s down in the truck. He’s, got really bad knees, so he can’t can’t hike up on top of this stuff and then his buddy. I got on the next Knoll to our West glass in completely different country as well.
So we got a couple big deer, that we’re looking for landing in his client and some spotters are just to the north of us a couple miles and we’re hoping to pretty much just turn up one of these two bucks. Hopefully both the Bucks. But at least one of the two and get a tag, punched and then start tag team in the next one. But right now as it sits, nobody know there’s a cold cold morning. Man was it cold. I wasn’t even this cold on Kaibab. I said it’s late morning now: we’re going to drop off this go, get in the truck and move spots and probably check a couple cards. A couple trail cams.
So here we go guys. You have buck Jason, no they’re , just all running around grandpa needs to see that from the trees and come running over, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen that I know I have it. I’ve seen two or three dos play together: yeah. Never that group never a good passer and usually they’re younger yeah, then they’ll they’ll jump up and poly each other once in a while and play, but these things are just doing flops like have you look at all the dust they’re kicking up down there? That’s actually, you know, reality is doing a lot of film and I’d be great footage to add to your. You know like a clip you’d be doing for something no you’re over film yeah. There’s a name is Bill Murray. Alright, guys we were back to camp ended. The day with seeing about 30 dough’s, not one buck, well, nevermind little forked horn and seeing all those deer playing together all them does run wrong. That was pretty cool.
So right now I’m on firewood detail. I got the back of the truck loaded sign the squeeze by anyways landing killed today, landing in his hunter killed today, and they killed their number one buck and he’s a stud. So they are pulling back into camp right now, as I’m coming back up to camp. After getting firewood so we’ll get out here and go check out what they’ve got go see this bad boy? Alright, let’s go check this bad boy out. Oh dude! Look at that thing! Jeez! Look at that cheater! I thought every time I looked at the trail, cam pics. I thought that was an inline, oh yeah, like a g2 inline, not a I’m, not a hook cheater. I thought it was only 10 inches dude yeah, it looks like he’s got like this. Is G? 2. 2. We call in TJ into coming out and giving us a hand for an evening boss and and him and Trevor found a pretty nice typical, pretty bug, so we couldn’t make it to him before it got dark. We decided we come back obviously in the morning, and we found him so now. We’re going to move around we’re going to go over by we’re land and sitting and try to get a game plan put together on where he’s at where he’s moving Joe here has a champ tag, so we got to try to put something together to where we Can get close enough with the truck to get a shot off should be possible. It just might take us a minute to do it right, see you guys in a bit, hopefully with a kill shot. We got enough guys here we can get somebody to run a video camera and trust. Actually, the three of them are trotting out right now, but we’re going to jump in the truck and run down the road and see if we can’t turn this thing up, it’s cool when you turn the lip girl exactly and then BOOM yeah. Let me just have him: okay, so we’re going to pull down and see if we can’t get them and Joe’s the champ tag holder.
Just so you guys know. That’s why we’re in the truck. I don’t want to hear any. I don’t want to hear anybody saying. Oh, you can’t do that there you go okay, we’re going to leave Joe there at the truck you know over there, so he can see anything that goes out the bottom for the top. So we pretty much, we pretty much have the place surrounded, but I know we got a dead deer over here. That shot was money. We watched it, we replayed it man 500 yards wall of him. I have to see you guys, I’m going to , not record all the walking. We got him. Oh my yeah buddy yeah. You could be Bob down the road too. I’m going to go back to the truck, so I can get Joe out here. Well, that’s good! You HI guys! We are loaded up heading home man. It feels guys good getting done early because we got done early now. We get an extra half day by the time we get home be half day and we’ll get some laundry done restock and tomorrow we head right back out the 13 bean. If we wouldn’t have got done early we’d be hunting all day today and tomorrow and then tomorrow, night driving straight to 13b and setting up camp and then waking up Friday morning and start hunting.
