395″ Elk Sheds
Part 1 to my 4 day elk shed hunting trip when I picked up a 395″ set of elk sheds these sheds had huge G4 & G5’s
What up so? It’s uh, I think it’s believed it’s February 5th or 6th, figured it’s been warm for past week or so, and it’s going to continue to get warmer this week. We’re supposed to hit. You know high 60s possible seventies in st. George, so figure. Hopefully the snows melting and and find some milk sheds. So here we are got here started about.
Oh, it was probably 11:30 12:00 o’clock right in there and it’s 2 o’clock. Now I’ve been hiking since then and finally found one. Finally, I was starting to wonder if I need to move for something little Bowl we’ll take it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Alright. So we’ve been going for quite a while. I think it’s like four o’clock. We found one shed so far just found. Second one. Just before Super Bowl kick-off, so sorry for everybody, it’s at home, watching Super Bowl, it’s weather out here is amazing, just snow and mud kind of suck, but good nice five, this one man be so we’ll take it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah sweet! All right just picked up number two down the bottom. In this hill we just hiked up and coming up the side. We got a hanger, take it been there for a while, too thing’s barely hanging there been there a long time. Oh sweet. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you we’ll take it Chak or not second day and we’re out here, new country we’re just going to pound it as hard as we can and hopefully pick up a bunch sheds or find that magical 400 so stay tuned. Here we go all right, so I was just coming up this little finger in these thick trees right here and spotted this little micro. Five, that’s hard white micro, five here kind of things a little, but on the way over a couple feet to pick it up. I look up this clearing and spot pretty big white up there. Hopefully you can see it, but let’s go pick it up. Thank you things. Thank you for my micro five see this bruise easy colder Wow. Well, I just seen the other side, I’m pretty sure. Go go, go, go, go, go, find nothing forever and then I’ll sitting Hillel PAH. Can you pick three up just like that, so I love it.
So I keep going alright so decided to sit down here for a minute. Take a little break, have a little drink and as we come up over the hill sit on these rocks. Well, behold, we have two shirts down here, yeah we got to rish it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you right there, that’s cool like that, makes them easy to find on the real pile. Oh just walked up on this yeah cool. Thank you. Thank you. Oh working through all these trees right here after I found that little broken, broken back hand off a young bull, come down through these trees and finally, finally found another one. So this makes number eight for the day ain’t much left of it Matan. Is it old we’ll take it? Thank you, beddin veteran shark sticking together, that’s sure hi. Here we go number, I think eight or nine. For the day it’s about 3:30, I really haven’t, haven’t hit anything good. Yet everything’s been super old, super chalky and in like little piles everywhere, it’s it’s been weird because I’ve been going through some amazing amazing country that is just hammered with the elk.
So I mean they’re here now, but haven’t haven’t, come across very many chalk or hard white lately, so you just keep pushing through, hopefully, hopefully we’ll keep stacking them up and it’ll get better and better, but there it is now. It is hard white though. So that’s a good thing, alright, so we’re just cruising down following this drill right here, it’s been the driest spot, been getting into some bad mud and finally found another one. Thank you. Thank you alright. So here we go day three to actually later in the morning. It’s about 11:00 11:15 11:30 haven’t found anything yet it’s been going since about 8:30 9:00 right in there. I move spots from where I was yesterday, butsix miles from the truck right now and finally found one. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so here it is, did I think 25 miles yesterday and picked up ended the day with eleven? Yes, actually looks like a good hard life yeah, so there’s no site around here somewhere.
